Firefighters Link with Leukemia Lymphoma Society for Stair Climb

This years team was made up of more than 30 fire fighters, with 5 of our fire fighters finishing in the top 100. The group from Boise this year finished 5th in the team competition led by Mark Austin (with a personal best time of 12:52:54), Kyle Rajsich (14:03:01), and rookie climber Matt Lutz (14:46:78). Even more impressive than our team times and personal records was our teams ability to fund raise. Boise Fire Fighters raised just over $23,000 for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society placing them 5th for overall fundraising as well.

Fire fighters participating in the event must wear full fire fighter protective equipment including breathing air from their self contained breathing apparatus and climb 69 stories (1311 steps) in the Columbia Building in downtown Seattle, Washington.
